- Making Natural Liquid Soap
Milky Way Molds is a "virtual business" with no employees and no central location. Instead, its day-to-day operations are coordinated among four different businesses; this strategic business alliance is a very key ingredient to Milky Way's success.

For Catherine, soapmaking has provided endless avenues for experimentation and creative expression, as well as an opportunity to meet lots of great people. She is a self-taught sculptor, and creates all of the Milky Way mold designs in her studio, located in Portland, OR.
- Catherine's original clay designs are duplicated in urethane resin, then . Both technical as well as artistic, Howard has been a wonderful business ally and friend, always there to help with problems and to offer innovative ideas which keep Milky Way growing. In addition to the 13-year old vacuum-molding business, Howard works in his glass-blowing studio and is in the process of creating a new company which will manufacture dichroic art glass.
